Our People                                                   

RCEA membership is in excess of 400 and is drawn from all areas of the railway industry. We actively seek to broaden our membership base to maximise our ability to educate and diseminate knowledge within the industry. Please consider joining us if you have an interest in the field or can help.

The current Chair of the RCEA is Andrew Boagey who was elected at our AGM in April 2017 for a year's stewardship. Lawrie will be ably assisted by Stewart Piercy who will act as Deputy Chair for the period. Our Secretary for the year is David Edwards and our Immediate Past Chairman is Lawrie Quinn.

The Association is run by the Management Committee whose members ensure the Association is run in accordance with its constitution. They are assisted by the Membership Committee and administrative support is provided by Kath Coldwell from the ICE secretariat, with events support provided by Elira Alushi from the Specialist Knowledge Societies Team.

Honorary Members

From time to time the RCEA bestow honarary membership on individuals who, through their career, projects and commitment to the rail industry; have furthered the cause of railway civil engineering.

Our current honorary members include past RCEA Chairman Bernard Gambrill; Sir John Armitt CBE FREng FICE; politician Steven Norris and Terry Morgan CBE.

Young Railway Civil Engineers - The YRCE

As part of our commitment to fostering younger engineers we have a younger members section called the Young Railway Civil Engineers (YRCE). The YRCE launched in 2016 and is actively expanding to provide events anf continuous professional development opportunities for Students, Apprentices and graduates up to the age of 35.
