Shenfield Remodelling Evening Lecture - 29th June 2017

On 29th June, Costain’s Shaun Cartledge, Atkins’ Nick Parker and Network Rail’s Bill Steen presented a Shenfield Remodelling lecture for the Railway Civil Engineers Association at the Institution of Civil Engineers, Great George Street, Westminster.

The presentation, which was well-received, explored the overall Crossrail scheme from the integrated design to the construction phase and including several videos and a 4D modelling of the timelapse of delivery. he audience featured varied railway professionals and industry representatives and enthusiasts who were active in raising questions which ranged from detailed design queries to logistics of the scheme. Shaun, Nick and Bill all demonstrated passion and the collaboration of all parties led to the success of the event.

The RCEA thanks the project for an extremely interesting evening drawing in such large audience.Shaun Cartledge, CRE, track construction, said: “The presentation at the RCEA was a great opportunity to showcase the excellent work that has been carried out by the project at Shenfield to a wider audience of industry experts. We were able to champion the excellent collaborative approach taken between contractor, design team and client that enabled us to commission the remodelled Shenfield layout and new platform 6 at the end of the blockade in week 5. We also highlighted how the project has used the latest technologies to assist with the design and planning of the works, to identify any clashes and constraints at the planning stage rather than when they are encountered on site”.
